Irvine new Baggies boss

EVERTON academy manager Alan Irvine has been appointed as head coach of West Bromwich Albion.

The 55-year-old Scot played for Queens Park, Everton, Crystal Palace, Dundee United and Blackburn Rovers, and has managed Preston North End and Sheffield Wednesday.

He will work with Rob Kelly, as joint-assistant head coach with Keith Downing, and Dean Kiely as goalkeeping coach.
