Walsall hospital balcony's rubber sheets in rain

WITH reference to your recent articles on "open air hospitals", I was in the children's ward, Manor Hospital, Walsall, from April until September 1948.

I remember being moved on to "the balcony".

When it rained rubber sheets were thrown over the beds.

For a while when I was first admitted no visitors were allowed on the ward but this changed. Two visitors were allowed but only on a Wednesday and Sunday.
