WOLVERHAMPTON'S Compton Hospice has been honoured with a prestigious award praising the work of its network of charity shops.

The Charity's Trading Company has been awarded the prestigious accolade of Most Profitable Charity Shop Operation 2014 in the 21 to 100 Shops category at the National 2014 Charity Retail Awards.

Compton Hospice Trading Company, which runs a total of 23 charity shops across Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, Dudley and East Shropshire, took home the honour after attending the 2014 Charity Retail Association (CRA) Awards which were held at Keele University last month.

Over the last 12 months Compton Hospice shops have generated (after expenses) in excess of £950 per week of charitable income.
