IN reply to Derek Overton's question in The Bugle (July 24 edition), A. Grainger coach company was based in Exeter Road, Smethwick.

They had four, maybe five coaches and their livery was blue and cream with gold lettering.

As a child in the 1950's I often went on trips with my parents, always with Grainger's coaches. I well remember two of their drivers, Charlie Onions and 'Lofty,' whose real name I never knew.

The coaches always started their journey from Corbett Street schools. Happy days.

M.A. Gresswell,

Sedgley.
