WITH reference to Mrs Jones' letter and others in the Black Country Bugle (December 5 edition), I also went to the Blackwell Convalescent Home, which is near Bromsgrove.

I was sent there in 1940, aged 15, after an operation at the District Hospital, West Bromwich.

It's in a lovely country area, so it was like a holiday to me.
