Saint Peter was in stitches
Outside the pearly gates,
Inside the angels gathered
With anticipation while they wait.
To welcome Tommy Mundon
On his arrival up from earth,
For even here he was well known
For his Black Country mirth.
But he will be sadly missed
This famous king of loffs,
Who called a spade a space
And could not care less about the toffs.
The tales he will tell them
Will have them laughing away for hours,
Even the saints will giggle
Inside their sacred bowers.
God Bless you Tommy Mundon
For the Black Country and what you have done,
And if the main in the moon appears laughing
You can blame our friend Tommy Mundon.
I WAS saddened to hear about the death of Tommy Mundon. I did not know him personally but I had the please of seeing his show with Alan Aynuk Smith. He was a legend who will be sadly missed, not only by his family but all the Black Country. May God bless you as you have blessed us all.
