RE your article in The Bugle (February 6 edition) from Bryan Roberts, Aylesbury, Bucks, concerning Benjamin William and Charlie Crump from your First World War article.

Benjamin William Crump was my grandfather. He and his wife Jane continued to live at 25 Malt Mill Lane for the rest of their lives. They had nine children, six sons - Ben, Leslie, Joe, Philip, Sidney and Claude and three daughters - Alice, Anne and Elizabeth (my mother).

He worked at Stewarts & Lloyds steel works till he retired. I am in possession of his war medals.

My mother married a George Tranter from Whiteheath and I was born in Ashes Road, Whiteheath.

25 Malt Mill Lane is still standing and still a family home.

I read your excellent paper every week, my compliments to you and your staff, please keep up the good work.

Mr P. Tranter,

7 Lancaster Avenue,

Dawley, Telford.
