Fenwick's brought back to me lots of Wolverhampton childhood memories

WITH reference to the article in The Bugle (July 31 edition) headlined Does Fenwick's ring any bells?

The answer is yes, although I am not familiar with a Fenwick's shop on Brickiln Street, Wolverhampton.

The Fenwick's shop that I can remember was on Pitt Street near the junction with Worcester Street.

My Dad, a keen cyclist, bought many bits and pieces from there over the years.

As we lived in Penn Fields I knew Brickiln Street well. My Dad used to work at the Wolverhampton and Midland Counties Eye Infirmary, which was not far from Brickiln Street.

It is possible he went to Fenwick's shop in Brickiln Street on his way home from work in which case I would not have memories associated with the shop. It was nice to see the Fenwick name which brought back lots of happy childhood memories.
