FOUR-TIME Paralympic gold medallist Ellie Simmonds has launched a new campaign aimed at getting Black Country folk to throw their weight behind their young athletes.

The 'Show your Support' campaign calls for people in the Black Country to support their local schools and athletes who will be competing in this year's Sainsbury's School Games Festival, which takes place at venues across the Black Country on the June 27 2014.

Walsall-born Ellie Simmonds, Active Kids ambassador for the event, said:

"Support from my family and friends is hugely important and continues to help me in all aspects of my Paralympic career. The 'Show your Support' campaign looks to motivate and support youth athletes at all levels and I'd urge as many people as possible in the Black Country to get behind their local young athletes to help them achieve their sporting goals."

You can show your support, especially if you have young family members taking part, by using the following hashtag #2014SSG on Twitter.

You can also visit the games' official website: www.yourschoolgames.com for more information.
