THE Black Country flag was hoisted atop Dudley Castle, at the heart of the zoological gardens, as the tourist attraction celebrated Black Country Day.
The flag was raised by Chief Executive Peter Suddock at the 11th century castle ruins last weekend to fly until Monday, the official Black Country Day.
Also during Keeper For a Day this week staff taught non locals a few useful words such as Owamya and Tara Fer Now.
And visitors had the chance to buy their own flag from the newly-restored Tecton Safari Shop where merchandise included badges and Black Country Anthem CDs.
It wasn't just the staff who celebrated Black Country Day - Yoda, the black and white ruffed lemur was also proud to show his support.
