Did the Beatles enter and leave the Plaza in Old Hill by the roof because of the crowds?

I TOO remember when the Beatles came to the Plaza in Old Hill.

The first time they came they were just an up and coming group, but you could see they had real talent.

The second time Beatle mania had hit and I stood on a chair near the stage for two hours so I could get a good view.

I was told they had to get them in and out of the Plaza by the roof.

How true that is I have no idea.

The Plaza was my highlight of the week. I went every Friday with my then boyfriend, who was named Alan.

I'd go to Blackheath market every Saturday to buy fabric to make a new outfit for the following week. If my dad didn't take me I'd catch the bus outside the Vine pub in Blackheath High Street. What a wonderful time the '60's was.
