I WAS truly delighted to see the letter from Mr Birch of Walsall, in The Bugle (June 5 edition) as shortly before I had been asked if I knew where the phrase "Gone for a Burton" originated. I had to say at the time that I had no idea.
It was remarkable that the answer should appear in the Black Country Bugle just a few days later. I found Mr Birch's letter most interesting and very informative, detailed and truly educational and enlightening.
Thank you so much Black Country Bugle, you really are absolutely marvellous.
