THIS postcard of wounded First World War soldiers in their hospital blues has been loaned to us by Kath Bryan of Wombourne and it originally belonged to her father-in-law, Bill Bryan of Coseley, who served with the South Staffordshire Regiment.
The postcard was sent to Bill by one of his wartime pals with a message that reads, "Dear Chum, do you know any of these? Am still swinging. Trust that you are in the best of health and safe. From your friend Harold." But are there any local men among these soldiers?
After almost 100 years it is difficult to say but the men's cap badges show there is at least one member of the Worcestershire Regiment, so perhaps he was a Black Country man.
The picture was taken at a school that had been converted to a wartime hospital.
