I AM a member of The Community Players, who are based at The Oakfield Centre in Brierley Hill.

We are in rehearsal for a very funny play. This is so different from the other plays we have put on in the past, it has a few surprises in store.

The play is called Curtain Up, it's an hilarious story of five women who inherit equal shares in a dilapidated theatre and plan to bring it back to life again.

They try various fund-raising schemes but their most ambitious is to hold a concert featuring local talent and a world-famous star, who agrees to appear for free!

However, their plans go awry and it's a race to keep the audience from guessing the truth of the matter.

It's a fast paced and very funny comedy with five great roles for women.

The play runs from: Thursday, September 11 to Saturday, September 13 at 7.30pm at The Oakfield Centre, Brettell Lane, Brierley Hill, DY5 3LT.

Tickets are £7, senior citizens and children: £6. Call 01384 394349 for tickets. Kind regards.

Diane Hardwick.
