Stourbridge cricket article's happy memories

THANK you for the article in The Bugle (February 20 edition) on Stourbridge Cricket Club.

It brought back happy memories of that final county match, I saw the first day thanks to the public holiday granted for the Royal Wedding.

July 29 was also Dad's birthday and Mum and Dad's wedding anniversary – he never forgot it!

First class players often scored heavily at Stourbridge. I believe the 235 for the last wicket by Woolley and Fielder for Kent in 1909 still stands as a County Championship record.

Paul Smith,

Pedmore.
