BUGLE Sport has long been the place to find local sporting obscurities, but even we don't often see anything as rare as these two team photographs.

They come to us from Rowley Regis reader Colin Saunders, who tells us:

"Following a letter and two photographs which I had printed in your newspaper on 22nd August last year, I have unearthed a further two photos. They relate to my first football club, which I ran in my early teens.

"The club was Dudley Wood St Johns, later Dudley Wood Olympic FC, and it only existed for some six years, disbanding when I got married in 1964. The two photographs supplied of this club are mine, and as far as I know they are the only ones in existence!

"This is my reason for wanting to see them in print: the fact that I do not know where these once fine and dedicated players are today."

Were you among the line up of the short-lived Dudley Wood St John's/Dudley Wood Olympic side? Do you recognise yourself among the players in these pictures, and can you supply some names?

We'd love to hear from you if so: pay us a visit at our office in Cradley Heath High Street, give us a call on 01384 567678, write us a letter at the usual address, or send an email to gjones@blackcountrybugle.co.uk.
