THIS fine football team photograph is another that has been kindly passed on to us by Terry Church of Wall Heath. It is one of three given to him by Roy Lilley, who was born in Holly Hall, Dudley, before moving to Wall Heath in his early teens. He now lives near to Tenbury Wells.

Terry tells us that in the 1960s Roy played at outside left for Stourbridge, Brierley Hill Alliance and Lye Town.

But this phootgrpah harks back to the playing days of his father Cyril Lilley. Other photographs will be shown in later editions, but this particular one depicts Churchfield Villa FC in 1938, when they competed in the Cradley Heath League.

Churchfield Villa played home games on Grange Park, Dudley.

It may be that the shield shown was awarded to the league champions. There is also a small cup on display. The secretary was F. Penn and the trainer R. Pace.

The players shown are, Back Row, C. Lilley, J. Clark, R. Hall, S. Guest, T. West, E. West, R. West.

 Front Row, T. Jewkes, L. Parkes, R. Andrews, J. Lewis, L.

 Woodhall.
