Pete gets ready for another Willenhall rock extravaganza

BLACK Country rock fans will surely be delighted to hear that the Willenhall rock event Fill Your Head With Rock is to return this year after a two year absence.

Organiser Pete Boot, former drummer with influential heavyweights Budgie, has decided to bring back the popular two day concert, which he founded more than a decade ago.

Pete was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease fourteen years ago, and soon afterwards began to put together his own rock festival at Gilbert's night club in Field Street, Willenhall, to raise money for research into the disease.

After a decade of successful shows featuring talent from right across the country and even the United States, Pete decided to take a rest from the months-long job of organising the event, and put his health first.

But now he's itching to get back at it again, and Gilbert's are more than happy to offer the venue for the whole two days once again. This year the show takes place over the weekend of 25th and 26th May, and bands already lined up include Killer Kangaroos, A Kick Up The Eighties and the Micky Kemp Band from London, with more to be announced.

But with stage time running from 2 in the afternoon until late into the night on both days, there is still room on the bill for more acts.

If you're interested in performing at Fill Your Head With Rock, contact Pete or Nancy on 01902 635885.
