WOODSIDE Community Centre chairman John Pestana has secured lottery funding to enable the centre to build a lasting Remembrance Room in honour of the fallen of the First World War.

In the room will be displayed photographs, artefacts and memorabilia of the men who gave their lives in the war from the old Woodside ward of Dudley, which also included Holly Hall, Harts Hill, Scotts Green and Low Town.

Anyone who would be interested in loaning or donating First World War items can contact John at Woodside Community Centre, Highgate Road, Dudley, DY2 0SN, 01384 75814, or email woodside.com munity@btconnect .com
