THIS is a photograph which has clearly been in the wars, but enough of it has survived the ravages of time for us to bring it to Bugle readers.
It dates from between 1970 and 1973, and shows a team known as Bulls Head FC, who were based, confusingly enough, at the Hangman's Tree in Oakham, near Dudley.
Dave Luton of Sedgley brought the picture to us, a large print tightly rolled and brittle with age. He was himself a member of that club, but tells us that no one he knows can recall where the Bulls Head which gave the team its name was located.
Bulls Head played in the Dudley and Cradley Heath League for several years but were wound up in the late 1970s.
They lined up in the picture as follows:
Back row, from left: Robert Arch, Ken Bishop, Ray Shaw, Peter McNaney, Clive Billingham, Ken Marklew, Micky Webb, Phil Northall, Johnny Marsh, Les Harrison.
Front row: ?, Roy Summers, Dave Evans, Graham Morgan, Dave Luton.
