IT was only last week we featured a mystery object found by Ron Barratt in 1987 while digging a plot of land in Blockall, Darlaston, and we suggested it may have been connected with horses of yore.

Within a very short space of time Tony Gregory of Walsall contacted us to identify the curious piece. He said, "It is a piece of regalia, but Masonic regalia and is an embellishment from a Mason's apron. There should be 7 chains in total". We also received a call from Dawn Belcher from Sutton Coldfield whose information concurred with Tony's findings.

If you've come across an interesting artefact that needs identification, contact us here at Black Country Bugle, Bugle House, 41 High Street, Cradley Heath, B64 5HL, and we might be able to help.
