BECAUSE of “The Big Move” of Dudley borough archives from its current location in Coseley to the new purpose-built centre in Dudley, there will be a reduced service and the Coseley centre will close to the public from 1st October, 2013.
The Big Move will get underway from 1st October when the archive collection, along with all of the service’s equipment will be packaged up, ready to move. These move preparations make the Coseley centre unsafe for public access, along with the archive material being inaccessible.
Until the new centre opens to the public in January 2014 a phone and email enquiry service will be on offer, along with family history and ancestry courses, exhibitions, and a programme of events. Bookings will also be taken for tours of the new centre – available in January when it opens.
Further information is available by calling the service on 01384 812770.
