A STOURBRIDGE author has published another historical book.

Entitled A Visitor's Guide to Victorian England Michelle Higgs reveals the minutiae of daily life in the late 19th century.

Michelle, who has lived in the Stourbridge area since she was 14, said: "I was always interested in history at school but it didn't become a passion until I started researching my family tree at the age of 16. I wanted to find out more about my ancestors' daily lives – how they lived and worked, and so on – and that's when I really got the bug for social history.

"I find the Victorian period fascinating because it was the century in which my great-grandparents were born and it was so different to the 20th century," she added. "I especially love Victorian clothing, advertising, transport and photographs."

The book is published by Pen and Sword Books Ltd and is priced £12.99.
