WALSALL-BASED Mapseeker have reproduced one of the earliest train journeys through Staffordshire in their latest publication, Wildfire through Staffordshire, based on a journey through the county in 1838. I thought Bugle readers would be interested to know that authors Paul Line and Matt Langhan will be signing copies of their book during a launch event at the Ancient High House museum, Greengate Street, Stafford, ST16 2JA, on Saturday (April 5) from 10am - 4pm.

Paul Lines is scheduled to give three, 30-minute talks about the history of this rail journey and I will give a number of 10-minute recitals of poetry commissioned for the book. There will also be an award-winning working model railway display by a member of Stafford Railway Circle.

Ian Henery, Walsall poet laureate.
