THE YEAR was 1958, and judging by the crisp, pristine white shirts, these lads were pictured before a ball had been kicked that season.
Anyone who attended Rowley Regis County Secondary Boys School in that era will probably recognise the familiar figure of Mr Willetts in the centre of the front row, and perhaps sports teacher Mr Jackson next to him, in tracksuit.
Our thanks to long-term contributor and local historian Anthony Page for providing the picture.
The boys were the 3rd Year First XI, and they lined up as follows:
Back row, from left: E Robinson, B Barnsley, G Harris, R Tromans, R Dunn, C Priest, C Adams, E Winwood.
Front row: T Groves, L Calloway, Mr W.J. Tromans, Mr G.A. Willetts, Mr S.J. Jackson, G Adams, M Gadd.
