AROUND 100 people registered their interest in volunteering at the Severn Valley Railway (SVR) during a Job Fair.
The railway hosted a Volunteer Job Fair at Kidderminster Station, which coincided with its ever-popular Members and Shareholders Weekend which took place on Saturday and Sunday, April 13.
During the Job Fair, which was held between 10am and 4pm, around 100 people registered their interest in becoming a volunteer across various departments including train crew, booking offices, footplate/motive power department, SVR charitable trust, carriage & wagon and station staff.
A total of 33 names and addresses were also recorded by the Volunteer Liaison Office (VLO)on the day to go forward for induction courses and one person was even given a date to begin their training.
Additional attractions at Kidderminster on the day included an engine in steam, diesel locomotive and a brake coach/wagon in the platform, which visitors could view while chatting to volunteers about the various roles on offer.
